Philips Healthcare announced that it is about to offer its first mobile MRI system, 
Achieva 3.0T TX Mobile MRI, the first Mobile 3.0 Tesla MR system in the world. The new system represents one of the latest advances in diagnostic imaging techniques. Achieva 3.0T TX Mobile MRI is transported in a 48-foot trailer. The system features MultiTransmit, which is a patient-adaptive technology that utilizes multiple RF transmission signals to adjust, automatically, the imaging device according to each patient’s unique size and shape.
The first healthcare organization to but Philips' Achieva 3.0T TX Mobile MRI is COLBALT, a United Kingdom medical charity. CEO for MRI, Philips Healthcare, Conrad Smits, said that the new mobile MRI system has a main advantage, which is that multiple healthcare facilities can rent it any time. This means that if there is a patient overflow issue at a multi-campus medical center, the 3T TX Mobile MRI system can be relocated to overcome the overflow. Smits continued, “It is also ideal for healthcare facilities who do not have the resources to build or add onto their own MRI suites or who want to sample the imaging service provided by advanced 3.0 T MultiTransmit technology.”
