A new consortium, Health-Ties, has been released by Europe’s most advanced regions in healthcare technology, in order to accelerate and elevate the use of healthcare solutions. The European Comission supports the Health-Ties consortium which was established to strengthen healthcare IT researches in these European regions through helping studies involving clusters of companies, regional authorities, research centers and universities.

There are five organizations constituting the consortium, which are Észak-Alföld from Hungary, BioCat from Catalonia, Oxford and Thames Valley from the UK, and Netherlands, in addition to Life Sciences Zurich from Switzerland. Health-Ties Consortium includes Europe’s leading regions in health entrepreneurship medical technology and biosciences. It aims to create more cooperative system to increase the use of healthcare IT solutions that the European Commission is encouraging. The consortia is going to detail what is needed to faster the exchange of idea-to-product and interpret regional R&D needs. It will also highlight the four main diseases in the continent, which are infectious diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer and cardiovascular disorders. Moreover, it is going to share ideas with the other EU regions and will join the medical doctors and patients group in the development of new solutions. In an announcement made by the European commission last week, it was mentioned that an Innovation Union has been established as one of the goals aiming to create a series of innovation collaboration to help mobilizing stakeholders.
