Medical imaging of the rectum and colon is used for screening and evaluation of cancer, traditional barium enema; endosonography and colonoscopy were the available facilities to perform such examination. Virtual colonoscopy is a modern medical imaging technique that became available due to advanced technology and software rendering over the computed tomography images. Virtual colonoscopy provides an easier and faster screening medical imaging technique for suspicious and high risk individuals. We would try to give a brief description of the virtual colonoscopy procedure.
