This introduction to Electronic Health Records (EHR) provides an overview of the EHR architecture, its components, the interfaces and its functional definition. The relationship with the PHR and EMR is explained. A sample EHR, as implemented by the US VA system is shown with a couple of user screens. This tutorial is intended for administrators, technicians, physicians and support people to be able to plan and understand its functionality and therefore impact on healthcare.
