More than half million Afghani are lacking healthcare …

Abdullah Fahim, a spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, mentioned that more than 600,000 Afghans were lacking basic healthcare services. This was caused by the continuous attacks taking place on healthcare settings. The spokesman added that this number was doubled since 2007. The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported 32 destroyed health centers during 2007, that number slightly differed and reached 28 attacked healthcare settings in 2008. Fahim added that World Health Organization (WHO) and MoPH were urging fighting parties to stop attacking healthcare settings and to consider their neutrality.
