MarketResearch.com has recently released a new report "Diagnostic Imaging Market to 2017 - Fusion Technology to Increase Adoption Rates of Hybrid Imaging Systems," The latter is the latest addition to MarketResearch’s Medical Imaging market reports.
The report said that the United States FDA approval of Siemens’ Biograph mMR provided medical imaging industry with its first PET-MRI combined system. It is expected that the trend of combining two different imaging systems, which is known as hybrid technology, will expand in the coming years.
PET-CT combined systems represent one of the results of hybrid technology. These systems help radiologists in both detection of diseases and planning of radiotherapy. Systems featuring two modalities are increasingly implemented all over the world.
The report said that while medical imaging market in the US and Europe is nearly saturated, there is a high demand for imaging systems in a lot of developing countries. The report added that among the main reasons for slow growth in medical imaging markets in developed countries is economical recess. On the other hand, a lot of developing countries, such as China, India, and Brazil, are now witnessing high growth in their diagnostic imaging market.
