Agfa Healthcare, a major company providing medical imaging and healthcare IT solutions, has recently signed a partnership agreement with the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). The agreement extends for three years and comes as part of the CEIBS Partnership Program.
The program aims to promote academic and industrial cooperation on healthcare via partnerships with well-known companies and organizations. Signing the recent agreement confirms that Agfa is looking forward to maintain its position in the Chinese healthcare market. CEIBS program includes partnerships with healthcare companies to enhance the Chinese healthcare system via conducting studies on the current and new topics in healthcare policy and management.
Agfa Healthcare’s president, Luc Thijs, attended the recently-held CEIBS 7th Annual China Health Care Forum 2011. The event took place in Shanghai, and Mr. Thijs spoke about healthcare IT and its role in providing better services in China.
"The core competency of the CEIBS Centre for Health Care Policy and Management lies in the world-class research and consulting expertise of our participating members. The partnership agreement with Agfa HealthCare fits in perfectly with this model. Agfa HealthCare can use its global experience to support us in our goal to improve healthcare across the board in China," Professor Zhang Wei said.
Mr. Thijs commented, "Agfa HealthCare is committed to furthering the potential of innovation in healthcare, in all our markets around the world." He continued: "The cooperation of the academic and corporate worlds is absolutely critical to achieve this. CEIBS is an internationally recognized business school, and we are pleased and honored to work with its Centre for Health Care Policy and Management. Not only does this center have an important impact on China's healthcare, but it also offers a forum for ourselves, and other healthcare innovators, in this key market."
