Normal Bone Scans
Agent: Tc-methylene Diphosphonate (MDP)
Adult Does: 20 mCi iv
Excretion: Renal
Critical Organ: Bladder

 

Notes:
-”routine” images in 2-3 hrs.
-can do dynamic and blood-pool imaging, as well, dependent on suspected pathology

-can do 4th phase in 18-24 hrs. (rarely needed)
-image from 500,000 to 1 million counts (this was the difference between the first two images)
-in children, the epiphyseal plates are open, and show intense activity (fine image)
