Osteoarthritis-Hemophilia

  • Radiographers show moderate to severe degenerative changes in an extremely unusual joint (elbow). Further, the patient was very young (34 yo) to have such changes.
  • Any time osteoarthritis is seen in an unusual joint and/or age, secondary osteoarthritis should be considered.
  • Prior trauma is probably the most common cause of unusual/secondary degenerative arthritis.
  • Radial head overgrowth might have suggested hemophilia in this case.
