In a session, at the HIMSS AsiaPac10 meetings in Beijing, GE Healthcare will launch its Ecosystem as it
seeks to improve healthcare through standards-based connectivity of the healthcare delivery. The experts will highlight the pragmatic approaches in order to implement a connected health information exchange infrastructure that improves the quality of care, lowers costs, and increases healthcare access for China’s population.
GE revealed its Health Information Exchange (HIE) 3.0 infrastructure, which includes a Master Patient Index (MPI), secure standards-based document exchange (via IHE XDS protocols) and intuitive clinical viewer. This infrastructure supports the matching of patient records gathered from multiple care locations, as well as ensuring that only appropriate records are matched and shared across organizations. “Connectivity of the healthcare ecosystem is a solid foundation to help transform the delivery of care in the positive direction, towards higher quality, lower costs, and improved access,” said Earl Jones, senior vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare’s Global eHealth Solutions business. “We are actively addressing some of the most critical challenges to modern healthcare and we are pleased to offer our technology and expertise to the people of China.”
GE Healthcare innovative solutions have established a secure, stable performance of a robust e-healthcare platform, with great connectivity and exchange of data. This collaboration with GE will set a milestone for a successful regional healthcare ecosystem in China.
