The first electronic eligibility system for health insurance related operations has been launched in UAE, the National Health Insurance Company, Daman has announced.
Waseel will implement the new system, and will offer hospitals, clinics, pharmacies operating within Daman's network of healthcare providers with electronic verification solutions.
Further, Daman plans to make the system as a tool to save patients' and providers' time spent in receiving required approvals manually from Daman before rendering the required medical services by connecting both the provider and Daman together electronically.
Daman's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Michael Bitzer commented "The system will track each member's medical transaction. Hence activities such as patient hopping (the process whereby a patient visits more than one physician having the same specialty for the same complain in the same day or in a period not exceeding 7 days) would be detected."
