Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, based in Danville, IL, has recently received a 3-year accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The accreditation was awarded in stereotactic breast biopsy, and it recognizes the high level of services provided at the facility.
ACR decided to award Provena United Samaritans Medical Center its accreditation following an extensive review process. A pane of Board-certified physicians and medical physicists evaluated a number of criteria at the facility. These criteria included staff knowledge, conditions of the systems used in operations, in addition to the implementation of quality assurance programs at the medical center.
After the panel reported its findings to the Accreditation Committee of the ACR, the later decided to award its accreditation to the facility.
