Digital radiogrphy news aycan’s imaging workstation, OsiriX PRO delivered excellent results for CT viewing

Rochester, New York, January 23, 2011.  aycan, a recognized worldwide leader in medical imaging, was among only four companies invited to demonstrate their imaging workstations during the Workstation Face-Off session at this year’s International Multi-slice CT Symposium in Germany.

Moderated by adj. professor Dr. A. Graser and Professor H.-C. Becker from the Institute of clinical Radiology of the University of Munich, this’ year Face-Off was comprised of two complex viewing tasks.  The first case was a CTA of an Aorta stent patient with an endoleak, and the second was a bypass and oncological case of a patient with multiple Lymphomas. Using its OsiriX PRO (a cost effective, FDA and CE certified, 64-bit fast highly functional workstation for conventional, multi-slice and other image reading), aycan completed all the tasks successfully and in a timely manner, and in some instances outperforming the other workstations.

Along with aycan, the other companies that participated were GE Healthcare, Siemens Healthcare, and Vital Images. A panel is currently assessing each company’s performance with findings to be released shortly.

Over 1,300 participants were expected at this year’s International Multi-Slice CT Symposium, which took place January 11th through 14th in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The program called for clinically oriented expert lectures, refresher courses and face-off sessions. More on the conference may be found at http://www.ct2012.org. The conference language is Germany.

aycan is proud to have been selected to demonstrate at this year’s conference and to help the CT community bring advanced radiological tools to market,” said Stephan Popp, CEO, aycan Digital System.
