Dell and Siemens are currently cooperating to design a new solution that offers extra storage space in the cloud. A new service, Siemens Image Sharing and Archiving (ISA), will offer a cloud platform for vendor-neutral image archiving and sharing.
The new ISA service will feature the Unified Clinical Archive of Dell. The latter will offer redundant archiving support to Siemens Healthcare Cloud Computing Center. The recent cooperation between Siemens and Dell will be highlighted via an agreement that will be revealed during the HIMSS12. The latter will take place later on this month. Dr. Jamie Coffin, vice president and general manager for Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences, said "With Siemens, they'll have a first copy in their data center; the other copy will be in our Dell Unified Clinical Archive,"
Dell’s Unified Clinical Archive will be able to store images coming from procedures such as Computed Axial Tomography (CAT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and electrocardiograms (EKG). Siemens’s new ISA service, on the other hand, will add more storage capabilities in regards to medical images and other types of data.
